Terms of Service

Effective date: August 2026. Please read these terms carefully before accessing or using the utilities, converters, formatters, and resources provided on Softnag.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Softnag (accessible at softnag.qzz.io), you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you must immediately discontinue using our services.

2. Nature of Services & In-Browser Processing

Softnag provides free browser-based utilities designed for image optimization, PDF document manipulation, text formatting, developer encoding/decoding, and financial calculations. All computational algorithms and file processing execute directly on your local device via client-side JavaScript, Web Cryptography, Canvas, and WebAssembly APIs.

Because operations execute locally without server-side file transmission, you retain sole custody and responsibility for the original and converted files handled on your device.

3. Permitted & Lawful Use

Softnag utilities are provided free of charge for personal, educational, research, and commercial productivity. You agree to use the services solely for lawful purposes and warrant that:

  • You will not use the tools to process or distribute materials that infringe on third-party intellectual property or copyright.
  • You will not attempt to compromise website availability, conduct automated denial-of-service attacks, or bypass anti-abuse security mechanisms (including Cloudflare Turnstile).
  • You will not misrepresent tool calculation outputs for fraudulent or deceptive purposes.

4. Disclaimer of Warranties

Softnag is provided strictly on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. While we rigorously test algorithms against standard engineering specifications, we do not warrant that calculations (such as financial compound interest or loan amortization) or file transformations will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for formal legal, tax, or engineering audits.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Softnag, its creator, contributors, and hosting providers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or business interruption — arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use our tools.

6. Intellectual Property & Open Source

The Softnag brand, layout, interface code, documentation, and technical articles are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws. Open-source libraries used within the project (such as Lucide icons, Tailwind CSS, PDF-Lib, and JSZip) remain the intellectual property of their respective maintainers under their corresponding licenses.
